My Military


I have been in the military for 13 years. Nine of those years were on active and for four years have been in the reserves. This blog is more of an open forum for those who may be interested in joining the army. Did You Know?

Did you know in the Army you can travel in the US and around the world? And if you and a buddy sign up to join the army and qualify at the same time, you can go through Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training (AIT), and your first duty assignment together.

JOB CERTIFICATION Did you know that there are over 200 different jobs available in the United States Army and that you get to choose your specialty? The Army can help you find great jobs both during and after your enlistment period. Enjoy Veterans benefits that help you get ahead in life.

EDUCATION. What about education? Earn money for college. Students may qualify for up to $20K of educational assistance to include the Montgomery GI Bill, the "Kicker," and the student repayment program for college or vocational training.




HEALTH CARE & INSURANCE Soldiers and their families receive free health care and prescritions. In the Army Reserves and National Guard are afforded the opportunity to participate in group health care and life insurance plans.

MONEY Soldiers can expect to earn up to $20K for their initial enlistment based on rank and time in service. There are enlistment bonuses of up to $40,000 and up to $65,000 for student loan repayment

If you and a buddy sign up to join the army and qualify at the same time, you can go through Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training and your first Active Duty assignment together.
